Before creating a character and roleplaying, you need to read the rules. The staff will add, delete, and change rules as they see fit, so be sure to check back every once in a while to see if they've been updated. If you have any questions or suggestions concerning the rules, contact a staff member.
General and Out-Of-Character Rules
1. Be courteous to other members. Minor cussing is allowed, but you don't need to use six cuss words in every sentence. Touchy subjects like religion and politics shouldn't be discussed. No fighting, either - if a fight breaks out or if a member says something that may be considered offensive, contact a staff member.
2. Every member has a warning bar that is only visible to them and the staff members. If the bar reaches 100%, the member will be banned. There are no set warnings for offenses - staff give out warnings as they see fit.
3. No hot-linking. If you want to use an image for your character, you need to save it to your computer and upload it to a site like tinypic, photobucket, or imageshack.
4. No page stretching. Images in general should be a maximum of 500 pixels wide; Signatures should be no more than 500 x 300 pixels in size. If staff find an image that is stretching a page, it will be removed.
5. Please try to be active. If you are going to be away or are unable to post for a period of time, let everyone know in the departures board.
In-Character Rules
1. No power-playing (playing another member's character without permission,) god-modding (basically making your character "invincible,") or killing another character without permission.
2. Try to be realistic. No crazy colors like purple eyes and pink fur, and while you can have strong characters, try to give them some weaknesses too.
3. Be literate. This means using spell-check and basic grammar skills, not typing ten-paragraph posts - you should, however, be able to write at least one small paragraph per post.
4. Mythical words (dragon, unicorn, etc,) words relating to heaven and hell (angel, devil, etc,) and star and its variations are not allowed to be used as prefixes or suffixes. Otherwise, we are pretty flexible with names.
5. There is no evil fifth clan on The Hazard; However, members can create bands of loners/rogues and do what they please with them, which includes attacking clan cats.
